Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated July 19, 2026
Retenta is memory infrastructure for AI agents. This policy defines what you may not do with it. It applies to everyone who uses the platform, and it is part of ourTerms of Service.
Prohibited content and conduct
You may not use Retenta to store, generate, retrieve, or distribute:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any content that sexualizes minors. This is reported to authorities without exception.
- Credible threats of violence or content intended to plan or incite mass or catastrophic harm, including the facilitation of chemical, biological, radiological, or nuclear weapons.
- Content that facilitates human trafficking or the sexual exploitation of any person.
- Malware, credential theft, or content designed to breach, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to systems.
- Material that infringes others' intellectual-property or privacy rights, or that you have no lawful right to store or process.
- Unlawful harassment, doxxing, or content that violates applicable law in the jurisdictions where you operate.
Automated trust-and-safety scanning
Because retrieval requires that we can read content, we run automated scanning for the narrow set of illegal material above. This scanning is targeted at that abuse — it is not general monitoring, profiling, or review of your memory, and we do not use it to inspect ordinary business content.
To keep enforcement effective, we do not notify a suspected offender that specific content was flagged. Our general practice of scanning is disclosed here and in ourPrivacy Policy; what we do not do is tip off abuse before it can be addressed.
Enforcement
When we confirm a violation, we may:
- Remove or quarantine the offending content;
- Suspend or terminate the account;
- Preserve the associated records as evidence, retained even after deletion where the law requires or permits;
- Report to and cooperate with the appropriate authorities — including, for CSAM, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children — and respond to valid legal process.
We aim to act proportionately, but for the most serious categories — CSAM and credible threats of mass harm — enforcement and reporting are non-negotiable.
