Web Interface Guidelines Review

Reviews UI files against Vercel's Web Interface Guidelines: the agent fetches the latest guidelines at run time from a raw GitHub URL, reads the files or glob the user names, checks every rule, and reports findings in terse file:line format.

Editorial assessment

This is a source-only assessment. It does not claim runtime or security testing.

What it does

A thin wrapper that has the agent download Vercel's Web Interface Guidelines at run time and audit named UI files against every rule. The pinned SKILL.md holds only the procedure; the rules live in the fetched file.

Best for

  • A fast accessibility and UX pass over specific component files before review
  • Catching small interface details such as missing labels, focus rings, autocomplete attributes or layout shift from unsized images
  • Producing terse file:line findings that are easy to work through

Strengths in the source

  • Short, fixed procedure: fetch guidelines, read the files or glob the user names, apply all rules, report in file:line form.
  • Asks the user which files to review when none are given rather than scanning the whole repository.
  • The fetched guidelines span accessibility, focus states, forms, animation, typography, images, performance and navigation state.

Limitations

  • The rules are fetched at run time from an unpinned main-branch URL, so behavior can change without this SKILL.md changing and the pinned copy is not the whole skill.
  • The repository has no LICENSE file (MIT is declared only in the README), so Retenta links to the source rather than hosting a copy.
  • Requires network access and a web fetch tool; static file review only, with no rendering or assistive-technology testing.

When not to use it

  • Offline or network-restricted environments where the guidelines cannot be fetched
  • Formal accessibility conformance audits that need testing with real assistive technology

Install from the source

Clones the current default branch, which may be newer than the reviewed revision 063bee9. The destination shown is Claude Code's personal skills folder; other agents read the same folder from their own skills directory. Declared MIT in the repository README, but the repository has no LICENSE file to reproduce, so Retenta links to the source instead of hosting a copy.
